Vathy is a picturesque and leeward bay with a golden sandy beach and deep blue waters. It is located on the southwestern side of Sifnos and at a distance of 10 km. from the port of Kamares.
Here, there is one of the largest beaches of Sifnos and the settlement expands over the beach. The complex "Agrilia apartments & studios" is situated a few meters after the monastery of Taxiarhes, on the right side of the beach. The vehicle access stops at the entrance of the settlement, a few meters from the beach where you shall find a municipal parking lot. Here, you will also find the bus stop, where from buses connect daily Vathy with the rest of the island’s regions.
Along the beach and by the sea, there are restaurants where you can taste traditional dishes of Sifnos, cafeterias, patisseries, mini markets etc. The monastery of Taxiarhes that has been built in the 17th century is a characteristic building and the jewelry of the small village.
In Vathy, there are also traditional potteries that you can visit and watch the creation of handmade ceramics. The area around Vathy is ideal for those who would like to walk on paths within verdurous areas with cedars, pistacia plants, thymes, sages, and many more plants.
Fikiada is another area that is worth visiting (accessible on foot or by boat), known for its virgin beach and for the monastery of Agios Georgios.
